About Us
Named In honor of founder, Crescentia O'Neal-Seralathan's mother - a classical soprano, jazz lover, and educator of 37 years - Mary Patricia O'Neal, who unconditionally committed herself to the advancement of children and families in need; her father, Andrew O'Neal, who assisted her mother with feeding and clothing families in need, and was also the consummate jazz lover; and, Crescentia's commitment to the extension and dedication to the well being of her community,
The Andrew and Mary P. O'Neal Cares Project, is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit organization started in the Fall of 2016, with the purpose of enhancing the well being of its surrounding community through collaborative efforts with the music community, and other community based organizations.
Incorporated in 2016, we have raised and donated funds for various causes since 2010 - awarding Augustus Lancaster Scholarships both nationally and internationally, and domestic violence family victims assistance awards to families seeking emergency funding and shelter, through the Janice Washington Memorial Fund. Our endeavors have also included a special event in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Christmas Day Concert for the Homeless, raising funds and awareness to support the fight against child sex trafficking, assisting to enhance the education and well being of children in Ghana, distributing clothing and toys to our younger community members, and delivering holiday dinners to shut-ins during the 2020 COVID crisis.
However, our work is not done. Far too many are suffering in our world. There are hundreds of thousands - no millions - of people, who are less fortunate, and require some sort of assistance. And, there are those who simply fall through the cracks. AMPOCares will be there to help as many as possible, no matter what.
